Excited to share our work published in Small on advancing eco-friendly Sb2Se3 solar cells. We replaced toxic CdS with a Cd-free SnOx electron transport layer (ETL), deposited via atomic layer deposition, and introduced a post-annealing treatment to optimize interface and absorber properties. This approach enhanced SnOx crystallinity, carrier density, and defect reduction, while improving Sb2Se3/SnOx heterojunction alignment and passivating bulk defects. The result: a record efficiency of 7.39% for Cd-free Sb2Se3 substrate solar cells, paving the way for sustainable, high-performance photovoltaic devices. We are delighted to announce that Tandem PV will be partnering with us for PV CellTech USA 2024! Join us in San Francisco Bay Area, on 8-9 October 2024. Tandem PV, based in Silicon Valley and founded in 2016, is driving the transition to a net-zero economy by working to commercialize the most efficient, durable and price-competitive tandem perovskite-solar panels on the market. Its panels are showing a 27% absolute efficiency, with 30% efficiency expected in the near future. This study showcases an innovative approach to optimizing the electron transport layer in perovskite photodetectors using polyoxovanadates (POVs). The MnV13-modified SnO? improves energy band alignment, crystallinity, and photocurrent efficiency. ?? Key highlights: ? Photocurrent increased from 26 μA to 80 μA with MnV13@SnO?. ? Improved grain size and visible light absorption enhance stability. ? Unencapsulated devices retained 70% performance after 720 hours.
