Identity. Digital Identity. Two separate things? No. In my opinion, they are merging as our 'digital identity' already has become a part of our identity as human beings. Imagine if the internet were turned off tomorrow. Many would feel that their 'self' or their 'consciousness' would no longer be complete, that something critical would be gone. This is why we need to be aware of 'digital identity' and why we continuously need to discuss how we manage and integrate it into our lives. I had the pleasure of doing a short TEDx speech on this subject a few years ago. The issue is still the same today, and maybe even more important than ever. Empathy and support can transform your life and the lives of those around you. I’ve been there: ??Unsure what to say ??Unsure how to solve their problem ??Desperately wishing you could do more But what if not knowing how to solve the problem meant you were able to give better emotional support? That’s what Nash Fung’s TEDx Talk “How to support someone without having the solution” is about. When you are wholeheartedly empathetic and actively listen to those around you versus rushing to problem solve, you give yourself the chance to support people authentically.
