As we look to the future, investing in education stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity. The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) exemplifies this spirit, serving as a catalyst for transformation and progress. Here's why donating to UTSA is a powerful investment in the future: Empowering Students: Your donation to UTSA opens doors for students from diverse backgrounds, providing scholarships and financial aid that make higher education accessible. Our largest feeder colleges come from Alamo Colleges District, which annually enrolls the largest number of foster youth. UTSA is a hub of higher education for non-traditional students (such as myself) who really benefit from every donation. Advancing Research: UTSA is at the forefront of cutting-edge research. Achieving tier one in research in 2020 status reflects UTSA's commitment to excellence in research and innovation across various disciplines, furthering its impact on the local community and beyond. From breakthroughs in healthcare to innovations in technology, your donation accelerates progress and fosters innovation. Enhancing Infrastructure: By donating to UTSA, you contribute to the enhancement of campus infrastructure, including state-of-the-art facilities, resources, and student housing. These improvements create an environment conducive to learning, research, and collaboration, ensuring that students and faculty have the tools they need to succeed. Enriching the Community: UTSA is deeply rooted in the San Antonio community, as a hispanic serving institute that regularly partners with Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). Your donation has a ripple effect that extends far beyond the campus gates. From outreach programs to community partnerships, UTSA is committed to making a positive impact on the region. Fostering Excellence: Your generosity sends a powerful message of support to the UTSA community, inspiring excellence and fostering a culture of philanthropy. Leading by example, you encourage others to join in the effort to support UTSA's mission and vision. Join me in supporting The College for Health, Community and Policy at UTSA. Together, we can make a difference and build a brighter tomorrow for generations to come. https://lnkd.in/gM-uX2dt #buildthenest #HCAPLRG

Great article on community colleges and philanthropy. Community colleges are our nation’s greatest engines of economic and social mobility, and a driving force of local and regional economies. Community colleges enroll 30% of all higher education students yet receive only 1.5% of the $58 billion in philanthropic support to higher education. Community college alumni work in every industry and are distinguished civic and corporate leaders throughout the country. Philanthropists looking to make a transformational impact should take a closer look at community colleges. #communitycollege #philanthropy

Feeling incredibly grateful to be part of the Northumbria University community that genuinely transforms lives. As a student and a beneficiary, I’ve experienced firsthand how Northumbria doesn’t just focus on academics but fosters essential life skills that prepare us for success beyond graduation. Dan Monnery's words resonate: with up to 40% of students coming from underrepresented backgrounds, Northumbria is making higher education accessible and impactful. And with amazing partnerships like Enterprise Mobility supporting initiatives like #IntoNewcastle, support from Laura James, Northumbria University Alumni Association and Louise Taylor, even more students get the chance to realize their full potential. Proud to be connected to a university that’s not just educating students but empowering future leaders. #HigherEducation #Socialmobility #StudentSuccess #FutureLeaders #EqualOpportunities #EducationForAll #EmpoweringStudents #LifeAtNorthumbria #UniversityImpact #CareerReady

Investing in education is a great way to create value
Dominican has received a $1.5 million gift that not only supports the growth of the University’s work focused on educational equity and social mobility but also serves as a matching challenge to inspire generosity from others. “Our donor has taken time to get to know Dominican, understand how our distinctive educational model supports student success and wellbeing, and through this investment has signaled strong confidence in what we offer to learners and the community,” says President Nicola Pitchford. #ThisIsDUC https://bit.ly/3Qvqiu1

It's back-to-school time in our house, a mix of emotions. At work, we've got a new project that has all the upsides - new learning, new ways of thinking. Unite Foundation is working with our long-term partner and champion, Unite Students, and with think tank Social Market Foundation to dig deeper into understanding estranged and care experienced students’ experiences of access, progression and success at university. Unite Foundation's work is driven by the fact that only 14% of care-experienced young people are in higher education at age 19, compared to 47% of the general population.?Estranged students face similar challenges to care leavers but with less support available to them.?We have over a decade of evidence that?confirms?if these young people are guaranteed safe, secure accommodation?at university - something parents often help pay for and arrange - they’re as likely as any other student to complete their degree and with a good grade. Working with Unite Students and our university partners we ensure Unite Foundation students who don’t have ‘parent privilege’ (as Unite Foundation graduate Paige Mackenzie BA (Hons) perfectly puts it) are fully supported in terms of their housing needs - and it works.?We want this to happen for more care experienced and estranged young people, and in more areas of their lives. Aveek Bhattacharya and Dani Payne at the Social Market Foundation are compiling existing evidence and insight from academia and civil society, to consider what further actions are needed and what could easily happen right now with the energy and commitment of the new Labour government. How can universities, local authorities, the government and other stakeholders better ‘parent’ and support care-experienced and estranged young people in accessing, staying in, and thriving at university? Back-to-school also means many young people around the country are preparing to start university and every new student joining the Unite Foundation scholarship is gifted £200 to spend on what they choose to make their house a home. Bedding, kettles, blankets, storage. We are fundraising now, and you can have the privilege of being the ‘parent privilege’ for a care experienced or estranged student starting at university in the next few weeks. Find out more and donate whatever you can here?https://lnkd.in/evStA8Pg?or text KITOUT to 70580 to donate £10.
