?? Robotic Retail ?? Following my previous post on the unmanned 7-Eleven Shop & Go store at Esplanade Exchange (Singapore), I discovered a new unit right beside it offering robotic retail. I decided to try it out. Check out the attached video and let me know what you think. :) The self-service digital menu offers the following: ? self-care products ? beverages ?snacks ?stuff toys ?sweets ?special deals ?? Interestingly, ice-cream was Sold Out. Other than c-stores such as 7-Eleven, Cheers and neighbourhood mom & pop stores, it's not easy to find inexpensive, single stick ice-cream. Data should reveal more insights. Verdict? ?? The purchase journey probably took less than a minute. It was simple and smooth. No hiccups. Nice! ?? This concept store reminds me of Singapore-based robot barista , ELLA by Crown Digital. Low involvement products like those in c-stores and even coffee could leverage on robotics to get around manpower shortage issues, theft etc in high volume locations. ?? When tech takes over the mundane at scale and speed, humans should start focusing on emotions and storytelling.
