Ahead of GRI UK & Europe GRI 2024, we held a Club Meeting to give senior Iberian & UK real estate leaders a chance to come together to discuss the biggest opportunities and most pressing issues affecting Investments in Iberia. ?? Moderated by GRI Club CEO & Managing Partner, Gustavo Favaron, the conversation covered challenges in the Spanish BTR market, experiences and results from transactions undertaken during the pandemic, and acquiring prime assets in challenging locations. Despite challenges, optimism prevails for Portugal, especially in American tourism. The meeting also highlighted the significance of ethical considerations in real estate partnerships, as well as touching on return rates, leverage, and timeframes in real estate projects. ?? Other points included a shift in co-living approaches, demographic considerations in Spanish co-living spaces, diversification efforts, expansion strategies in the UK, Europe, and Latin America, premium pricing in Barcelona, a focus on short and mid-term apartments in Spain, and challenges in attracting international capital for the Spanish living space market. Thanks to Darius Alamouti (Kactus Hub), Enrique Molina Campos (Alba | REIM), Ibon Naberan (All Iron Group), Ioannis Verdelis (Vita Group), Jaime Moran (Medan Asset Management), Vitor Rocha (Retail Mind Group), and everyone else who participated. Look out for our full report on Investments in the Iberian region, coming soon to the GRI Hub! ??
