I just had a wonderful conversation the other day with Jaya Mallik, M. Ed. about something very similar! Particularly we were talking about the way in which academic and intellectual elitism create gatekeeping mechanisms to DEI knowledge and practices. In other words, as you just said, it, ego gets in the way of the good work.
