Apple, Google/Samsung Electronics, and Lenovo are entering the VR headset market, joining Meta, PICO XR, and HTC. I predict market consolidation in 2024. Meta will likely maintain dominance due to a partnership with Tencent to launch an affordable headset for the Chinese and global markets.? ?? - Enterprises will overcome current obstacles of scaling VR? ? Many enterprise IT departments have not yet certified one or more VR headset(s) for wider adoption within their respective companies. Some of this is due to wanting to see what device reaches mass adoption and acceptability with users first. At the same time, other factors include how to handle data security within VR environments, privacy, as well as multi-device management. I expect that 2024 will see IT departments of multinational corporations greenlight specific VR headsets for mass use. ? - VR will become more professional and more mainstream at the same time Enterprise users are rapidly adopting VR applications as more employees create their own VR projects.
