Hyphen B Very, very nice to meet you. Thanks for agreeing during the day in the life interview with us. Yeah, it would be great to hear your story, your day in the life. And with the first question we want to start off you telling us about your job and what your company does. Yeah, I'm kind of happy to jump in. I'm part of a company called Play Role and we're a partner of Global M So that's how I kind of was connected with Global M And to explain kind of what we do, I think it's best to kind of explain how we were born. We were born as part of the VAT IT company. And when COVID hit in 2019, our CEO, Brendan Silver, he noticed this kind of gap in the market that essentially was remote work. And now remote work can mean that you employees don't have to be in the same office. Let alone the same country. So from that we kind of created the play role, play role as a global employer of record platform. So we essentially allow companies to hire in countries they don't have entities. We handle all legal, compliance and tax associated with the higher and we find that companies typically come to us in three situations, talent retention, so relocating to a new country, entering a new market, so wanting someone in the ground in a new in a new area. Without having to kind of set up the costly entity and then the third being cost reduction, so hiring cost effective employees with good talent. How I kind of fit into the picture is I'm actually the partnerships associate at play role. So I'm running the kind of strategic and recruitment programs. So I sensually kind of unemployed at the moment to build out that half of a new partnership understanding the clients employer of needs alongside building relationships with partners. Eventually that's kind of my role and what I do, I think they're kind of provides a bit of context. Yeah, yeah, definitely. And what is your background, how did you get into into the industry into working with partnerships? Yeah, I mean I'm, I come from a very different background to employer of record focused background. So I actually have a legal background and I completed my degree and by chance I started working as a channel sales intern at American Cyber Security Company. That kind of focus on machine identity. From there I kind of just fell into the partnership. The partnership path basically by doing by relationship building with kind of vendors and resellers. I then kind of forgot all about law and I realised that partnership was going to be my focus and on my first interview I kind of connected with the vision that play role has. They kind of want to build this one playground vision and atmosphere and I think you really find that in a company. So essentially no matter how senior or how junior you are, your thoughts and ideas are kind of respected throughout the company and it became a opportunity. To kind of create, uh have a creative role alongside of sales skills. So it was kind of a it strikes a really good balance and play role and I'm kind of very grateful for the opportunity and the partnerships team that I've kind of been given. But that's how I kind of fell into it. I didn't go out and wanting to be in the partnerships team, but I'm very glad I am. And what does your typical day look like? What does your schedule look like? One of my favorite things about play role colors as a company is that my work day doesn't look the same. Any single day, the way that my work schedule always starts is with coffee though and with a morning coffee is my is my guaranteed, but it's kind of down to the type of role I do I think as well. But I break kind of my work day schedule up into the three elements. So partner acquisition, partner enablement slash management and then sales opportunities and kind of these three elements involve many different task day-to-day. The partner acquisition part is identifying new partners. This can be done by meetings or. UM prospecting to partners and discussing our business aims and global expansion. Um, it can also also be focused on reaching out to companies as well. So something we like to do is we understand the value of certain recruitment and companies. So we know that they're gonna be a valuable asset to play role. So I will outreach to them and hopefully we can get a meeting set up and they can see the value in in what we do as well. The partner enablement can be very different day-to-day, but it kind of involves various calls I find myself obviously like I said. Back-to-back calls with partners, but the aim of these are kind of to meet our partners potential needs and discuss alignment. It kind of helps us understand the market within recruitment but also helps them explain and understand the employer of record market. And we run quite a lot of enablement sessions day-to-day which partners which I find really fun and we end up doing kind of with whether it's with their sales team or our sales team, but they're understanding employer of record and when to introduce it and we see a lot of value in that. And yeah, the last kind of set is sales opportunities. So we often get partners that have clients that need playing role. And at this point I'll again get on another call end up being end up kind of with the partner and the account executives and all that play role and we kind of taken a consultative approach. So we like to understand whether what their needs are. And yeah I kind of like to explain that we, we do, we do the sales opportunity with our partner, we work with them, but that's kind of the day-to-day, but I'd like to kind of run it. Equally, but I end up one ends up being really heavily influenced by the other. So one day, yeah, one could be partner acquisition day and then one will be partnering enablement, but essentially that's kind of like how I like to break it up. Yeah, yeah. And with the origin of your and nature of your company Play role, do you work fully remotely or yeah, it would be just great to know more about your perspective on remote work. So Play role offers a hybrid model for those based in London like myself, I work in the office two to three days a week depending. I have however worked in remote remotely in a business before. My perspective is I sat on the fence about it and I I know it's not definitive answer but. I think it's all about the company's approach to remote work. I think you need to kind of encourage a great culture and to ensure employees don't feel isolated and remote work. So while it can kind of be great for flexibility and also I think people work best in their own environments, it can also be a lonely area to work remote and there are drawbacks within kind of sales environments. But that kind of being said, I think there's a lot of solutions to that. We we we've discussed this quite a lot, basically an approach that play role takes. We have a remote employees is we do revenue huddles and we do play role all hands and these meetings that kind of involve everyone from different office locations getting together and discussing you know what's going on in the business. But I think I think it's debated and it's always going to debated and our company do a really good job and we've done with global end before whole hosting webinars to tackle remote work and it's something we really do believe that can work but you need to be ensuring a good culture. Then remote work, so whether you are touching base with your employees or the time or making sure that you know, you are always constantly in enforcing that kind of making sure everyone's OK and making sure everyone's good in in a remote work environment. But yeah, we we do discuss a lot of remote work topics and it's something that I think everyone sits on the fence about where and what type of projects do you currently work on. Yeah, I mean so currently I work with my main project is at the moment building out of recruitment partner program. So I work with obviously global and quite closely. Our aim is to build and scale up our recruitment partner program. I believe the recruitment and AOR goes hand in hand. So what I mean when I kind of say that is that we can work with our partners to Co sell. So we work with our recruitment partners building out the program and they often have a lot of clients that need to hiring in new countries. And we work with those partners to be able to facilitate their clients needs. So we end up helping, helping our partners have an end to end solution. And I think that's quite a huge project for play role at the moment because we see a lot of value with working with our partners and together creating a solution for a lot of clients because we have a lot of clients that come to us and I think they don't, they either need recruitment support and that's where we can help out and we can send you over to our partners. But vice versa, we have a lot of recruitment companies that come to us and they have a lot of clients that need. For support. So kind of my biggest project at the moment is working with those partners to facilitate your needs and and what is your biggest achievement do you think? I think outside of um what I'm doing at the moment play role, I probably say, uh, it's my law degree. I took a lot of tears, a lot of stress and I looked back at it still not kind of fully believing that it was something I achieved. I see kind of a lot of aspects in in my degree in play role. I think I expected it not to be like that. I think my biggest achievement was always going to be my degree but I and I thought now I'm going into partnerships I'm never going to use it but I used it day-to-day at play role because being a stop it's not easy and. And there are times where, you know, we kind of we we struggle. But because I've had that achievement, think I come with that kind of wealth of experience of being able to kind of push myself in situations and we always try and encourage kind of your input, you know, having that degree and that achievement of the degree motivated me to kind of do well now, definitely. And it's all about like transferable skills. Although you don't use it directly, you definitely use it in your day-to-day work, work life. Thank you very much.
