Revealing: Europe’s largest timber logistic centre that sequesters carbon ?? We can finally unveil Europe’s largest timber logistics centre, that we are designing. At BESTSELLER’s 155,000 m2 Logistic Center West (LCW) we showcase design solutions scaling sustainable practices to reduce carbon emissions. Timber sequesters carbon and avoids emissions from steel or concrete. ? And that is not all. The centre also features: ??The mass timber used in the building will be sourced from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) approved suppliers. ??The building is designed to be BREEAM-certified at the highest level 'Outstanding'. BREEAM – is one of the leading international building certifications in sustainable construction. ?? The building will also be equipped with 23,000 square meters of solar panels. ??The logistics centre will employ 600 highly skilled people. ??It is comprised of offices, warehouses, and a roof terrace with restaurant and garden. ? “We are proud to be part of a project, where employee wellbeing, aesthetics and sustainability is prioritised so distinctively,” says Eigil M?rkholt Hasling, Project Director, Ramboll.? ? The building is designed in collaboration with Henning Larsen ? Renders by Henning Larsen
Where exactly in Europe is going to be built ? ????…?
Pride - is what I feel ?? This is one of many projects which makes me so proud of being part of Ramboll. To collaborate with a client with such clear vision and sustainability ambitions is a privilege. And even more proud am I because BESTSELLER selected our sister company Henning Larsen for the design of this state-of-the-art logistical facility. I have followed this project from the very beginning where I played a very small part in the very early stages when Tilde Almstrup reach out to me (by recommandation from Troels Fynbo Larsen @JYSK if memory serves me ????) and I was able to link BESTSELLER up with our Dutch colleagues (Klaas-Jan Kramer & Co.) in connection to the site selection process. Now I have the great pleasure of chairing our internal project steering committee and - I repeat myself ?? - I am so proud of the team. Thank you to everyone involved internally and externally including our Dutch partners DENC, part of Sweco #collaboration #teamwork #sustainabilityambitions
Amazing, leading the way by setting an example - of what can be and should be.

Fantastic project and Client! It is great to see this level of sustainable ambition ??
Whow very nice and a warm welcome to Lelystad-NL
Beyond proud to be a part of a project where sustainability thrives first ??
Great ?? .... You can reduce CO2 emission even more, by using DERBIGUM NT as membrane on the roof...... We would be pleased to help you with the roofing.............
Thanks for a great collaboration on this exciting project - can't wait to see the final result in 2026 ????
