??? Patrick Aufort, Director of Agence de l'innovation de défense (AID), visited the offices of Unseenlabs and Cailabs, this week. The Agence de l'innovation de défense, in conjunction with the Ministère de la Défense and the DGA - Direction générale de l'armement, indeed supports the #Keraunos project, in which Unseenlabs provides the satellite that will be placed in low orbit, and that will operate itself. The objective of the #KERAUNOS project is to experiment with an optical communication system by establishing a connection between a laser terminal onboard a satellite placed in low orbit and an optical ground station. This experiment is a world first in high-speed optical satellite communication between a satellite and the earth, with processing of atmospheric turbulence without adaptive optics. The applications of this project are varied; repatriation of Earth observation data, implementation of secure satellite communications for sovereign applications, transfers of very high-capacity data for future telecom constellations...
