We recently attended the Volcano Summit 2023 in Antigua Guatemala, where our Managing Partner, Lorenzo de Leo, participated in multiple discussions, sharing valuable insights. 1. Web 3: Unraveling the Next-Generation Internet ?? Discussion Topic: 'Web3 has been called the internet of money and property rights. What does that mean to you?' ?? Lorenzo's Insights: Despite the ongoing innovation in Web3, the technology is already poised for real-world applications. He emphasized the importance of focusing on generating value and impact, stating that success lies in solving significant real-world problems. With the remarkable talent in the region, Lorenzo believes Central America is well-positioned to create globally impactful Web3 companies. 2. Judging and Mentoring Startups Beyond panel discussions, we actively participated by judging and mentoring startups in a competition at the Volcano Summit. This interactive session allowed us to integrate with and contribute to the entrepreneurial community. By evaluating and mentoring startups, we shared our knowledge and insights, aiding these emerging businesses in their growth journey This experience reinforced our commitment to nurturing innovation and supporting startups in their quest for success.?? 3. Corporate Innovation Workshop - Banco GyT Continental - VIP Breakfast A deep dive into corporate innovation took place in this interactive session, attended by industry leaders including Banco GyT Continental, Banco Industrial Guatemala, Progreso and Progreso X. This session emphasized why corporations, often more than startups, are suited for innovation but may face challenges in initiating and achieving tangible results. The session covered: ?? Unlocking Potential: Teaching how to harness the inherent innovation capabilities of corporations and navigate initial challenges. ?? Innovation Avenues: Exploring various project types and initiatives that can propel corporate innovation. ?? Crafting Your Strategy: Providing practical tips and access to online templates and tools for formulating a customized innovation strategy.
