TSMC CONFIRM FIRST EUROPEAN CHIP PLANT WITH $10B GERMAN FAB TSMC have announced their pans to develop their first ever chip plant based in Dresden, Germany, in a project worth more than $10 billion. TSMC will own 70% of the project and will work with three European partners; NXP, Infineon and Bosch, each with a 10% stake. The facility will be the companies first plant in Europe, coming at a time when Western countries are trying to have a larger stake in the manufacturing of microchips as a result of the highlighted fragility of the supply chain over the past few years.
