Ever felt like you're playing a game of 'Who's the Fastest Finger First' on LinkedIn? ?? Racing to be the first to like and comment on posts, hoping it'll give you a leg up in the visibility game? Well, let me tell you a secret - it's not about being the Usain Bolt of LinkedIn. It's about being the Einstein! While being the early bird might get you the worm, or in this case, a few extra views, it's not the whole enchilada. It's like being the first to arrive at a party but forgetting to bring the fun. What's the point, right? ?? Here's the real deal: It's not about being the first to comment, it's about being the first to add value. ?? Think of the comment section as a bustling farmers market. Everyone's trading fresh, juicy insights instead of fruits and veggies. You don't want to be the guy who shows up early with a bag of stale chips. You want to be the one who brings the ripest, most delicious insights to the table. So, how about we change the game? Don't aim to be the first to comment. Aim to leave comments so insightful, they could be mini blog posts themselves. You know, comments that make people stop, think, and say, "Wow, I never thought of it that way!" Remember, you want to be more than seen, you want to be remembered. It's about leaving a mark that's not just timely, but timeless. So, the next time you're about to comment on a post, take a moment. Think about how you can add value to the conversation. And who knows, you might find your comments sparking conversations that set the whole post ablaze! And hey, if you ever want to trade some of those juicy insights or have a chat, feel free to drop me a DM. My door's always open! And for more insights on adding value, check out my company's post on the subject: https://lnkd.in/eeVjhwxY #LinkedInTips #AddValue #BeTimelessNotTimely #TekBankTales
True, John, but timeliness plays a part too. You don't have to be the first one but more often than not, authors don't engage with their day-old posts anymore. Social media content lives less than fruit flies.
I comment whenever I see their old posts but they don't bother. They don't value us.
You give the best advice!
