The Middle East, Asia and Pacific chapter of Urban C:lab recently met to discuss the future challenges they see for our urban environments. Urban C:Lab from?Buro Happold?is a research collective that encourages collaboration and innovative thinking. The third cohort of the group that seeks to think collectively, openly and without hierarchy about the future of the built environment was recently chosen – the Middle East, Asia and Pacific chapter met in Semarang, Indonesia, to identify key themes through which they plan to explore innovation in urban environments. These include revitalising ageing urban assets, the importance of mitigating and adapting to climate change, and tackling declining urban health and increasing levels of inequality.
