Founder & Chief executive DEALMEOUT

After my post last week, I'd like to say a big thank you to all the people that reached out to me, and the team here. The outpouring of support was incredible. It was an immensely difficult week for us all, I was dreading coming back to my emails, but was incredibly humbled by the showing of support. Amongst those emails, was an offer to save Deal Me Outs services from immediate closure. Everybody within the team is so incredibly grateful to Jon Duffy and Genting Casinos UK, along with everybody else that has supported us (mentioned in previous post). I'd be lying if I said it didn't bring a tear to my eye. This was not something they had to do, far from it. They care about the organisations on the ground. the LCCP RET system should never have left any organisation (of which we are not alone) in the position we found ourselves. There is already enough money within the system, the distribution Is just monumentally bonkers. This isn't the time or place to open up the debate, but from the inboxes I've had privately, that day is coming. I'd just like to say, thank you to everybody, from all of us here at Deal Me Out, its a long road, but one we can keep on travelling. #thankyou

I believe it would be beneficial for smaller RET organizations to unite and establish a common voice. If not, there is a risk of another organization taking your place in just a few months. It's unfortunate that exceptional organizations like yours are pushed to crisis points while others hoard millions in their bank accounts. It would be a missed opportunity not to leverage the current momentum to drive meaningful change in this situation. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

Wales and its people needs you and Deal Me Out. Deal Me Out was one of the first if not THE first grass roots Lived Experience organisations to be set up in Wales and the impact youve had what you have achieved in a comparative short amount of time is amazing... glad that DMO has been offered a life line.

Congratulations Jordan Lea. A tiny percentage of people truely understand and have walked in the shoes of a founder. It is a position of great privilage, but equally one full of emotions and in many cases personal sacrifices to help others which many people dont see. Leading start-up, small or large organisations, all have very different and unique challenges. Having worked in the third sector for the best part of 30 years I'll do a refective blog next week and post on here. I'll share my own experience of fundraising and some of the potential risks and potential opportunities that are going to be afforded to this sector. Leaders with lived experience, who put themselves out to establish organisations should be encouraged with not only funding, but also training. Congrats once again Jordan ??

When is the time and place to open up the debate ? I look forward to it wherever and when it may be. Some shocking takes around on this issue and sone of those contributed directly to your current circumstances.
