Echandia has received the Gustave Trouvé award for excellence in electric boats and boating. The awards recognizes inventors, designers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and visionaries who are developing clean, quiet, zero-emission technologies and designs to reduce reliance on fossil fuel for marine propulsion. Echandia, together with Cochin Shipyard, India, won the award in the category Electric Commercial Passenger Vessel in Operation for the Water Metro project in Kochi, India.
