?????? ?????? ?????? ???????????????????? ?????????????????? ?????? ?????????????? ???????????? ?? ????????????. 12 of the UK’s unicorns were founded in the aftermath of the ‘08 Financial Crisis. So far, 4 of them have exited – Wise, FARFETCH, Funding Circle UK, & Zoopla. And a third of the UK’s ‘Soonicorns’ was also born in this difficult period. This might be the case: 1. ?????? ?????????? ???? “????????-????????” ???????????? “????????-????-????????” ?????????? ????????????????????????. In a crisis, real problems need to be solved. The companies that shift and address these problems will create critical solutions that the market must have. I’d say energy tech companies will have a spotlight in Europe this year. 2. ???????? ?????????????????? ???????? ?????????? ?????????????????? ????????????. Investors are now shifting their focus to profitability over hyper-growth. And so founders with a cash-conservative mindset will likely receive the funds and runway to survive a crisis. Freemium revenue models will help startups gain more users while their GTM strategies will be the key to retaining their customers. Mailchimp switched to a free service in 2008, resulting in user growth from 85k to 450k within a year. Of course, there are various other factors at play depending on the crisis. Founders will need to identify which trends and strategies fit them best. But the tough startups of a crisis are usually the ones who weren’t afraid to innovate, pivot to find a product-market fit, and focus on building long-term users. Why do think successful companies are created during a crisis? ?? #sorgenfrei #wholehumanapproach #business #startups #leadership
during a crisis, the market is disrupted, creating gaps and opportunities for new companies to fill.
Hey Peter, thanks for sharing these interesting insights. It's always fascinating to see how some of the most successful companies were born out of a crisis. I think one reason for this could be that during a crisis, people and businesses are forced to adapt quickly and come up with innovative solutions to overcome the challenges they're facing. This often leads to the creation of new products, services, and business models that meet the needs of the market in unique and valuable ways. Additionally, a crisis can also create opportunities for entrepreneurs to identify gaps in the market and seize them before others do.?
Two ways (and more of course), opportunity or limit.
