Join the waiting list for Inclusion Ready Leader today

My social media feed rarely shows me Black men in leadership roles. Here are a few notable exceptions: david mcqueen, he talks about BRAVE leadership. Robert Livingston, he talks about conversations about race. Andy Ayim MBE, he talks about investing and entrepreneurship. Frank Douglas, he talks about HR, Diversity and Inclusion. These men never seem to appear in my feed:??? Paul Sesay, he talks about inclusive companies. Rob Neil OBE, he talks about evolving as leaders. Nelson Derry, he talks about culture and inclusion. Sope Agbelusi, he talks about Everyday Leadership. Dr. Anton Lewis, he talks about Race and Accounting Dudley Sawyerr, he talks about health and social care. Amri B. Johnson, he talks about Reconstructing Inclusion. John Amaechi OBE, he talks about becoming Giants as leaders. Cephas Williams, he talks about changing the narrative about Black people. This list is short. That’s precisely my point. I'm ashamed because I don't know enough and I've left people out. Please help me expand my list of Black men who are leaders. #leadership

My friend Muhammad Shehu Shuaibu, Economist | Researcher | Environmentalist is a leader in his community in Kano State in Nigeria. He supported himself through school and college from a young age and got his Masters 1st class in Economics from Sharda University in 2021. He made a special data contribution in my last book and I value his perspective to inform me in my writing.

Dr Gifford Rhamie (PhD, FAETC). He’s brilliant. ??????

Dr. Jonathan Ashong-Lamptey Thank you for emphasising the truth in your post. This is also a necessity!! Add yourself to the list, though I know your humility makes this unnecessary!!

I've had the pleasure of working with #PaulChambers (Principal of The Skills Hub at Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust). A truly inspirational leader and role model for many racialised men and women.

Professor Paul Miller, Malcolm John and Mark Wheeler MSW, MA and Ransford S. are some other impressive leaders. Not all of them post regularly on LinkedIn but all of them have taught me a lot and I admire them. Totally agree about Frank Douglas. Saw him on a webinar once and he was so insightful and gave me loads of ideas. And so do you, Dr. Jonathan Ashong-Lamptey ??

I completely agree, I used to see some of your list on my feed regularly, however, for some reason I no longer see most. It is also a lonely place being a black male in the diversity and inclusion world. although I am seeing some great new leaders starting to filter through. I for one would love to see yourself in my feed alot more! Thank you for your leadership in this matter. I shall be following with interest. ????

So true- there are so few. And thinking about this further, it’s most probably because they are so deep in that toxic dismal work culture of keeping their head down, working to the bone and second guessing them selves, just to keep their position, that sharing their insights feels inauthentic at best. And that’s why it’s so important to keep doing what you do Dr. Jonathan Ashong-Lamptey
