So, for the last two weeks I tried something new to generate more traffic. I posted some messages, some articles, liked some messages, just to see whether my profile would be visited more often, to land me a new freelance assignment. But... I haven't written any of the articles. I did pasted in some links and an image or two, but all text is generated with ChatGPT, the images with Midjourney (except my profile picture). I wrote down a short description, with some keywords, and ChapGPT did the rest. Most of it wasn't utter bulls*** (though "The anarchistic, activist developer" was fun ??), but for some reason I find my own writings a bit more snappy, sometimes mixed with some dry humor or cynism (could be narcism as well). Also, when writing myself, it's far easier to put emphasis on something you really want to be highlighted. However, ChatGPT is far better in constructing English sentences (and Dutch as well, I suspect), spelling and grammar as I am. And it costed me almost zero time. The amount of traffic for one post was pretty good, all the rest was... pretty lousy. Many factors are involved (time of publishing, amount of posts, more tweaking around with ChatGPT) for having success, but I have the suspicion that a good article indeed generates more traffic (and by that stating the obvious perhaps). Anyways, I think I will be using ChatGPT a lot more in the future to improve my writings and coding. However, as lazy as the last couple of writings I'll try to avoid. And it hasn't landed me any new leads either (yet), so for now this experiment failed ?? #freelance #newasignment #chatgpt #artificialIntelligence All the generated posts: https://lnkd.in/eFZUU3E2 https://lnkd.in/eRefwPMe https://lnkd.in/etHMvrmA https://lnkd.in/eRf2HYzy
The Midjourney prompt for this image was, by the way, "Freelance developer searching for a new job on linkedin using AI"
Hi Chris, Interesting approach. I know that spending more time (reacting, posting on linkedin) will generate more traffic but it is often a bit peaky and I read somewhere that time of post has a lot to do with that. All the best in your search. If anyone in my circle needs a seasoned "anarchistic" software developer, please contact Chris.
This is just the beginning ?? I want to build some things with CGPT later this year
Nice experiment Chris, and I would argue it succeeded, not failed.
