#StandWithManaaki – a campaign for justice. Today I’m posting Peter’s latest blog - a summary of his views on the allegations made, and a hard hitting review of the actual process.?And WOW!?The lack of natural justice is stunning. It is the nature of a campaign for justice that those fighting the good fight get exhausted, or bored, or scared of the consequences (or all three).?We start questioning ourselves, why are we doing this, have we done enough, can we let it go? The audience lose interest, the media lose interest…?there’s always a next big story. So let me be clear – I am not done.? And I will not be done until Callaghan Innovation at least tries to make things right.?Their flawed due diligence reports have done real business and reputational damage to people and businesses that have made a positive difference in my business community.?And I will continue to defend them. I also ponder if there is a wider issue;?an issue about the potential for bad actors to hijack government procurement processes, for their own personal and / or business reasons? Are there other cases like this out there? This is not personal. I am not looking for “heads to roll '' over this.?Rather, I am looking for those running public procurement processes to listen, and to learn; learn about how easy it is to be led astray, and how vigilant you need to be in the future.? For surely, the first promise you make to those responding to a government RFP should be “we will do you no harm”. And where harm has been done, take responsibility for trying to put things right. There is absolutely no doubt that this Callaghan Innovation procurement process created real harm, serious damage to these businesses, and to the reputations of Andy Hamilton, Pat MacFie and Monty Betham, the directors. ?And that is not okay. Here’s Peter’s wrap up of his detailed review of the allegations made in those leaked due diligence reports.
