LinkedIn... What is even the point of having the option to report a post for spam, if you don't actually remove spam? Self-promotion of your podcast under every single reply on an article? Not spam. Tagging random commenters under articles with a message that's just the tag? Not spam. Replying to posts with your blog about an unrelated topic? Not spam. "But you can block them" That doesn't do anything for spam; they keep posting elsewhere. Suddenly, you're faced with a choice – stick to your guns or swing that ship around. Pivoting isn't admitting defeat; it's more like saying, "Plot twist! We're now making lemonade instead of selling lemons." It's a rite of passage in Startupland. Some reasons you might need to pivot: ? Your target market's just not that into you. ? A competitor beat you to the punch. ? You stumbled onto a better idea. ? The world changed overnight. So, how do you nail the pivot without face-planting? 1. Listen to the data: if the numbers are screaming "change course", pay attention. 2. Stay true to your core: pivot around your strengths and values. 3. Bring your team along: communication is key. Get everyone on board with the new direction. 4. Be agile, not fragile: treat your pivot as an evolution, not a failure. Really enjoyed listening to Amir Shevat and Simon Maple categorize the AI Dev Tools landscape on the AI Native Dev podcast. They cover coding assistants, test and doc generators, AI DevOps tools and more, and give us a sense of their maturity level today. Amir led dev experience in Twitch, Slack and Twitter, and now invests in dev tools. He has such clear perspective about the types and motivations behind each type of tool, which is so sorely needed in the current mess of AI dev tooling.
