In this second article in my series on leadership and creating an inclusive workplace, I share a very personal reflection to show how and why empathy must be central to advancing DE&I. #leadership #empathy #DEI #inclusiveworkplaces
Fantastic message, Julie! Too many times the pressures of business get in the way of treating people with kindness, caring, and empathy. Command and control cultures demand that people complete a goal rather than inspiring them to be the best version of themselves to attain something greater than the business goal...a culture where people can thrive and look forward to their work as opposed to dreading their work. Caring and empathy are how I have always known you. You are an inspiration! Thank you.
Love the emphasis on caring and empathetic leadership ! Thank you Julie
Great article, Julie
I often find that Empathy requires pausing, reflecting on the scenario, and providing space to breathe before immediately reacting. This is easy to write/say but harder to put into practice. Empathy requires space for learning. Thank you, Julie, for this article.
Julie, this is truly excellent work. Tom
Great thoughts Julie
Beautifully shared Julie and a kind reminder. Hard to imagine a different time as the Julie I have had the pleasure of knowing has always been thoughtful and caring.
Thank you for sharing this, Julie. I appreciate your willingness to be vulnerable and to acknowledge the learnings along the journey to where you are today. I love working in your organization. Thank you for being an authentic leader.

2 年Thank you Julie. Such a timely reminder to pause and reflect on the environment we are each creating. Without empathy there’s no connection, without connection it’s difficult to feel a sense of belonging.
