I am glad that the O-RAN Massive MIMO Technical Report has been published, eventually completing last year's work in the Use Case Task Group in O-RAN WG1. During the study the following algorithms have been evaluated in detail and suggested for normative work: -?????????Grid-of-Beam Beamforming Optimization -?????????Beam-based Mobility Robustness Optimization -?????????AI/ML Based Initial Access (SS Burst Set), CSI-RS and DM-RS Configuration Optimization -?????????L1 / L2 Beam Management (AI/ML-assisted Beam Selection Optimization) -?????????Non-Grid-of-Beam Beamforming Optimization The O-RAN Massive MIMO Use Cases Technical Report 1.0 July 2022 can be downloaded at https://lnkd.in/e2DS2asG You might be interested to review the detailed descriptions and evaluations including trial result, system level simulations and numerical analysis. By now, work items have been created in the various working groups in O-RAN and normative work is ongoing. Quite a few CRs have been submitted to complementary standards in 3GPP (RAN WG2, RAN WG3 and SA WG5) as well. Particularly, I would like to thank all Nokia people promoting this work internally and being involved in the teams as well as my co-rapporteurs Gabor Hannak (Nokia) and Balaji Raghothaman (Keysight) for their hard work in 2021. Furthermore, special thanks to contributions from Christiane Allwang (Nokia), Eng Wei Koo (Keysight), Nick Whinnett (Intel) and ZHENG Xufei?(DoCoMo). #oran #mimo #5g #5gtechnology
Thanks
Congratulations to all involved! This is exciting news, Balaji Raghothaman.
Exciting!

2 年Thanks, Eiko, for sharing. If you, or anyone from the audience would be interested, we have a new blog post on 5G beamforming and the importance of O-RAN in this field under this link: https://rimedolabs.com/blog/beamforming-and-open-ran/ BTW, we at Rimedo Labs, are finalizing the work on xApp and rApp focusing on those use cases.
