Does the term "abandoned shopping cart" mean anything to anyone? Over the past 15-months I think it would be safe to say that we have all become more "experienced" as on-line shoppers. While I have found that ordering through Amazon as a Prime member provides me with free shipping (and reliable delivery), I find that this consistency is absent in the general market. In other words, while some on-line vendors have provided a positive experience with reasonable shipping costs, others while offering a low price for their goods, charge almost as much for shipping as they do for the product you are buying. Regarding your question: Does shipping from a store create a competitive advantage? The answer is at the shopping cart and the percentage that are abandoned before a sale is completed.
