I'm begging us all: Please stop trying to fill the void of interpersonal interaction with endless back-to-back meetings. Our calendars are jammed, our brains are melted, our ability to process tons of information is stifled, and you can't replace spontaneous conversation by filling every last hour of your day on a video call. Use chat. Send an email. Use the phone if you absolutely must. But if we're all going to avoid being burnt to a crisp by the "end" of this (whatever that is), we all have to have time to breathe. Think. Or just rest. Besides, when on earth does the work get done if we spend all day every day meeting about the work? #productivity #worklifebalance

Well said
Well said Amber. You voiced what a lot of people are thinking but are afraid to say.
95% of meetings are useless and can be avoided using Slack/Zoom or Email/Chat/Phone.
Thank you.
I had a day of no meetings today. I didn’t plan it that way, it just happened. It was absolutely delightful. I got so much work done and it felt so good. I felt free, creative, focused, and engaged. I may do this on purpose more often!
This.
I couldn’t agree more, Amber. Something that’s helped me a lot is scheduling mandatory mind-clearing walks throughout the day where I leave my phone behind and just breathe, explore, and move.
I'm actively promoting this in my workteam and doing it myself. Little by little...
