The Vulnerable Human: I have not been true to myself. I have been bottling things up because of a perception I held. I told myself that showing weakness would compromise all I talk & write about in conscious leadership, wellness & mindfulness. In conversations yesterday I said “to open up would be like a chink in my armor” https://lnkd.in/dY4q3zN This is the WRONG mentality. In NOT been vulnerable I go against everything I stand for. In this video, I talk about how I've used tools like mindfulness practices to help me. Most importantly though, I outline they are not a fix for everything So. I am feeling under pressure right now for multiple reasons. My mindfulness practices are ONE tool that helps. But TBH, it doesn't give me what I need right now. RUNNING does! Remember, there are multiple tools that can help Don’t get me wrong. My practice has made me who I am today. It helps me achieve goals, build relations, listen better, understand more about myself. But think about it. Do we have one App for everything on our phone? No! We have an arsenal of them. The same applies here I hope this helps you to explore experiences, thoughts & feelings more. Also knowing bottling up isn’t always the answer. I'll be exploring this topic more as this has stimulated good thoughts
Stephen Baines - thank for sharing. It requires a lot of courage to share one's vulnerability. It helps us to connect more deeply with the people and that helps. I am a great believer in the power of vulnerability for a leader. I know we carry the image that a leader has to be invincible. But when a leader shows the courage to expose his vulnerability then team people are able to relate and feel safe to share theirs. This helps in creating a strong team bonding. I have used it in my teams and it helped us to achieve great results.
Thank you Stephen for sharing this.
Remarkable messaging Stephen - thank you for the raw vulnerability. Please don't hesitate to let me know if I can help in any way.
Beautiful, Stephen
Thanks for sharing Stephen and showing you are human which is always enough. These are tough times but always remember you are someone who enters the arena time and time again and do continue daring greatly. https://youtu.be/-s6DQrqVHxM
