“Are the dishes in the dishwasher clean?” ?? This was a common question we had at home, every single day. By midday, it was difficult finding out whether the dishwasher had clean dishes or was loaded with ones yet to be washed. One morning this week, I was puzzled to find some color papers stuck on the dishwasher! ??? At first, I thought it was another prank. My 8-year-old then owned it up and explained. It was a paper slider with 2 sides - “clean / unclean”. You slide it to “clean” when you run the dishwasher and swap back to “unclean” when you start loading dirty dishes again. ?? No more questions to be asked! This hack did solve the problem and I loved its simplicity. The details were a bonus: color-coded sides, and little illustrations to make it visual :) I had never thought about it. Perhaps, kids are wired to think creatively and simple. I wonder how we lose this ability and end up complicating stuff! #problemsolving #innovation
