"How do you think technology & AI will impact #conservation, 10 years from now?" I was asked in an interview with Future Investment Initiative - ?????? ?????? ?????????. My 2 favorite predictions for this long-ish timeframe: 1. Technology will help us quantify #environment impact of every human action. What's your personal carbon footprint today? If you can't measure it, you can't manage it. Today, we have many credible hypotheses, but not enough #data. Thanks to efforts such as Microsoft Planetary Computer, we'll be able to size up all of our planet's resources & #biodiversity. If we establish a relationship between this & each human action, we'll act more responsibly. And, sustainably. 2. We might start communicating with our biodiversity ?? There's early research to understand animal calls. Advances in #ComputerVision, #audio #analytics, & biosignals processing can take it further. If we understand their non-verbal actions, perhaps we could start relaying back our messages to them. We need a 'Rosetta stone' breakthrough! Hi Ganes: Hope we will have the technology for tracking the environment impact soon. We are already witnessing the adverse changes in global climatic conditions for the past few years which has been primarily caused by the unplanned rapid urbanization across the world. Reducing carbon footprint has to be the topmost priority for all of us in the times to come.

4 年I have to admit, I wouldn't have guessed the second one! It would be great if we could take better care of life on our planet.
