???? Lemons to Lemonade: Candlelight & Memories... & Kindness ??? I discovered this gift shop meets tearoom long before I moved to Stouffville. Its delightful variety of gifts changes with each season. Just over 3 years ago, I stepped into this calming oasis with a cozy nook for tea on my way home after the pre-op for my surgery a week away. My symptoms had started on Christmas Eve, culminating in a cancer diagnosis I was terrified. Pat Montgomery and her 2 other guests, a mother and daughter, listened and comforted me. When I went to pay for my tea and scone, Pat told me they had paid for me and wished me a speedy recovery from surgery. I was moved to tears. When I was back on my feet, I actually found an apartment in Stouffville where I live now. I stopped into Candlelight & Memories to thank Pat for her kindness. I asked if the mother and daughter were regulars. They are. I paid for THEIR next tea and scones to thank them. Small business owners play a vital role in our lives when we need them. For me it was going to the small local hardware store and the team there being able to assist in a personal way. Going above and beyond the call of duty.
