Why have we been so unprepared to face this pandemic? Marc Andreessen talks about a failure of imagination, and failure of action. He says that we should have innovated more and built more in areas such as healthcare, education, housing, and manufacturing. Yes, the crisis has made it amply clear that we haven't built as much in these areas, even as we innovated in other sectors. But, what could have led to this inaction?
