I don’t have a great meme or inspirational quote for this, but for all of the working parents on LinkedIn who just found out yesterday that your public school child will now be doing “home study” for the next 4 weeks.... I am thinking about you. While this is temporary, I know uncertainty and change is hard. I thought it might be helpful for parents to use my post today to share ideas and solidarity. We are in this together. #coronavirus #covid19
In Houston and surrounding areas it’s 14 days I think.
Keeping a schedule/routine. Every day needs structure. Getting kids dressed, ready, same time every day as though they were going to school. And then a script to follow (similar to a day at school) as to what they’ll be doing when. The day doesn’t get lazy or sloppy for them, keeps them focus and still accountable to learning vs treating it as a vacation.
I’m lucky to be able to work from home, so I’ll be setting a daily schedule that combines academic/work as well as fun activities, for both me and my daugther #workfromhome #homestudy
Thanks for sharing this, Sarah Johnston ?? - COVID-19 just hit Harrisonburg yesterday!? Plans are being created in our school systems for virtual classes for children - they are meeting today to discuss it.
This is a great post. Thanks Sarah Johnston ?? for starting it.
I will be leading presidential history webinars, hopefully starting next week, regularly. Your kids can hop in and participate any time. Email me at [email protected] if you want to sign up!
The entire world is in this together, so no one should lose hope or feel alone. We need to restrict public physical communication at this point to help eradicate this pandemic, but we all together.?
