With most conferences getting canceled, this is an interesting possibility. I haven't considered VR worlds and virtual events as engaging alternatives. Maybe now is a good time to experiment. Has anyone been a part of good online events? #conference2020 #vrexperience #virtualevents
It's a shame that so many conferences are getting outright cancelled instead of converted to virtual ones using platforms like @VirBELA. Akin to the game SecondLife, attendees create their avatar, roam around shared spaces, walk into rooms for live/recorded presentations, chat in lounges (voice/text), set up expos and advertising, etc. You can use it to create virtual team suites or host events. At BMC Software during the recession we converted the user conference to one of these virtual ones. It was really cool.
