You are not alone
I think it is important for the ad industry to treat everyone fairly.? From the demeaning way that the male is portrayed in ads currently, to realizing that there are many different groups of people who see and respond to ads.? Why alienate one or two by ignoring them?? I don't see an overwhelming amount of complimentary ads for men.? Maybe in the liquor industry, but not overall.
I loved this article and am painfully aware of ads in my sector that are always overwhelmingly male. As the mother of a daughter it’s as annoying as seeing kitchen and baby ads with mostly women. Thank you! ??
Let's look at Mad Men, guy drinks his scotch with another guy, they smoke their cigars and conduct business, perhaps close the deal. But when the ad for that scotch was shot, it was a woman who realized that the melting ice during the shoot was unappealing. My point is, women see the details more than men, that is a given gentlemen, without those details the business collapses quickly, so who is actually keeping the business afloat? The stupidity of sexism and ageism should have never existed, but yes as Doug mentioned below "we always have done it this way". This needs to end, this needs to end yesterday, and women, fight to the end for everything you deserve as an individual, but please don't put aside those men that also deserve it. I am currently looking for a President of my NGO N2NGO Foundation, so far only women have had the intuition to see the micro details needed to make this a successful venture. I have to say, one saw more little details in 15 minutes than I have in the year of planning.?
ciao va bene
great
