Most mornings I am in the office before the rest of my team. I'm an early riser - work out and get to work. That's been my routine for 20 years. I love being in the office when no one is here because there is a quiet calm which allows me to focus and prepare for the activities of the day. Sometimes I walk around and just take it in while I think. This morning I noticed something as I was passing people's desks. I saw sticky notes on their computers or pinned to their walls. This is not uncommon but what caught my eye was that I saw MY handwriting on them. As I looked closer I saw the little notes of gratitude and encouragement that I occasionally leave for the team. It was touching to see that. Some people have kept many of them! For me it's just a quick note. It takes a few seconds and I go on my way. For them it really meant something and that was great to see. The lessons: 1. Never underestimate the power of a kind word. We don't always know what people need but we may be just the one to give it to them! 2. Never underestimate the power of your influence as a leader. The simple act of acknowledgment goes a long way in strengthening culture and letting your team know that they and their work matter! #business #gratitude #culture #leadership
This is amazing! I wish more people did this for their employees/coworkers. You never know if someone is going through a rough patch in their life, something like this can transform their perception on things into a positive outlook.?
Even I'm an early riser and love watching the sunrise as it gives me the strength to work with dedication I can totally relate to you.? ?
Influence people in symple way, apriciate
A simple note can make the difference between getting up to go to work happily and accepting the last job offer. The world has become so competitive that talent retention no longer relies simply on competitive wages but most importantly, on work culture. Only those with the best leaders will survive. Agreed?
I always say please ,thank you and recognise a job well done , a few words go a long way
Very beautiful post..??????????
This is such a powerful reminder of how small actions can have a huge impact. You exemplify how leaders can positively affect work culture from the top down. Thank you for sharing and leading by example.

5 年Great post! Kind words change more behavior than harsh words. Most people just want to know their work is noticed and appreciated.
