Congratulations to grads on your transitioning from the first phase of life, when you are learning in school and are dependent on others, to the second phase, when you’re trying to be successful at work and others become dependent on you. Because I’m transitioning out of my second phase, I want to pass along the principles that helped me in that phase. They’re the most valuable gift I can give you. They’re available free on an app called “Principles in Action,” which you can get in the iOS App Store, and in a 30-minute animation called “Principles for Success,” which is available on Youtube. I will also be posting some of the principles that are particularly relevant to you here. May the Force of evolution be with you! People who achieve success and drive progress deeply understand the cause-effect relationships that govern reality and have principles for using them to get what they want. The converse is also true: Idealists who are not well grounded in reality create problems, not progress.
Unless you master reality, you can not master dreams. Nicely said Ray Dalio
Love this Ray!
Thanks for sharing! The last part was especially meaningful to me. Would you agree that success can take many different forms, and is different for everyone?
Whatever you choose/plan to do for the day, the month, the year make sure to go hard with everything you got. Try to give it 100% all the time and whether you win or lose you will know soon enough if your strategy is working.? Good hunting to everyone in getting what you desire.
how about when preparedness meets opportunity?
Thank you!

5 年I'd say showing up ready to work, showing up sober/clear headed, and working hard already puts you ahead of the pack. Developing thick skin in the first year is critical too. The business world is a little different than the "ivory tower" in college. I'd also say find a mentor that you have similar out-of-office interests is key too. Good luck, Class of 2019!?
