Whats the one, most important word that drives meaning for you and your business? Can you pick a word or a mantra that influences you and how you work and live? I was recently asked this by Keri Roberts, and I found it to be a really valuable question. This video is revising my answer to her at the time. In thinking about it afterwards, I'm gonna go with the word 'wonder.' To be in a state of wonder involves being open. A state of openness and awareness of everything else, of other people, of other situations. For me, being a novelist, loving world-building and so on, having that sense of wonder means I'm fascinated by anything. Finding a way to tell your brand stories, and make them accessible, and help people get interested in your brand - to me that's fascinating. To me, that's exciting. That's a content strategy that I can get behind. And jump into. So what would you say? What would you pick as a word. or a mantra that has really deep meaning for you? Why you do what you do? Go ahead and answer in the comments. Absolutely would love to know. Day 11 of my 21 day #video challenge #7lifemarks
I agree with everyone - great question!? If I had to choose one word right now in where I am in life and in my consulting business, it would be: collaboration.? I love to collaborate in life and in business - being open to collaborating with others on all levels - in business, in marriage, spiritually, emotionally, mentally, etc.? It's all encompassing.? ?And FYI, I am celebrating 30 years of marriage this Easter Sunday...this required LOTS of collaboration over the years! :-)
The word that I am going to go with here is INNOVATION. I love reverse engineering the processes of everyday life and of business. I believe that, after we are able to take a look at a situation or scenario from the opposite view, we are able to to truly break down the "game" and beat out the mediocre competition. Attention and relevancy are the key variables in brand, marketing, and sales. If you can figure out why people do things, you can sell anything.
This is a very important question and the answer, no matter how much it may vary between people, is even more important. Not just for understanding others but also for us to understand ourselves and what makes us tick- something that I’ve discussed with many creators in one capacity or another. For me, it would be LOVE. As cliche or broad as it might seem, love is the common denominator in just about everything I do. Love drives, influences, and creates meaning in my work, hobbies, and relationships with people. If my love were to evaporate, I wouldn’t have motivation or drive, I wouldn’t have positive goals, and I definitely wouldn’t be the same person. I have a relentless passion for creating videos and telling impactful stories- that pursuit is fueled by love. And at the end of the day, in regards to business, If I love a company’s brand and mission, I love the change they hope to create, and I love the people, product, and service. I will do whatever I can to work with or be associated with that brand. Same goes for customers. We have a saying around the office, “Let’s make love cool”. Expressing love has been often perceived as a weakness, but I believe it’s the strongest force in the world and binds us all together.
Dominic de Souza I love questions and when you stay in that “wonder” all of a sudden the answer will show up ! I always look for possibilities. A great question to ask: What else is possible?
To spring off your word is a suggestion I gave to a group of 5-8th grade girls recently: stay curious. A sense of wonder or curiosity opens your world up so much. The diversity of people around you may not seem apparent but everyone has a story. It’s there for you to discover if you’re willing to listen, right? Love your word. Mine is Action! So many of us get bogged down with worry, analysis paralysis or endless comparison games. Becoming a person of action empowers you to discover your brilliance and begin to trust yourself. Rather than standing stagnant, move forward in some way, always. Become better in tiny (or big) ways constantly and always be trying to improve either yourself or situations for those around you. Don’t be scared to struggle. Action drives me always. ??
Good question! Purpose That’s ours. Our sense of this is very strong. It drives everything we do. We have a mission and a movement because of it. ????
Jim, Troy, Stefano, Lisa, Yisrael Friedenberg ??, Donna, Katherine, Barb Hurst, - would love to know your take on this. You all are deeper thinkers than most. Come drop some wisdom. ??
Dominic de Souza Great question.... Mine would be, 'wanderlust'...Not just regarding travel, which I love, but the exploration of life.... The exploration of business...
