Marketing friends: What are your favorite books? For me, the best ones are not explicitly about marketing — but rather real-life stories. For example, recently I have been reading the biography of Walmart founder Sam Walton. No matter what you think of the company today, it is amazing to learn how Walton transformed Walmart from a small-town dime store into a multinational behemoth. So, help me out — what non-marketing marketing books should I read next?
To be true I thrive on Jane Austen. When reading to be holistic and true one has to let go and relax. Then the ideas come to fruition.
My top 3 right now is : "How to win friends and influence people" - Dale Carnegie "Starts with Why" -Simon Sinek "Unfu*k Yourself" -John Bishop (This is definitely my favorite book so far!")
Built to last by Mr Collins and Mr Porras
I loved the Richard Branson's book, Losing My Virginity. It's such a great story chock full of lessons.
Bill George, Finding Your True North. Best baseball book ever written, The Glory of Their Times! There is no Sales or Marketing book even close to that one. It is all about first hand life stories from early stars, during Baseball's golden age, including Smokey Joe Wood! He beat both Walter Johnson and Christy Mathewson in 1912 AND played with Babe Ruth who was a rookie in 1914!
A surprisingly riveting book about the recent financial crisis: "American Icon: Alan Mulally and the Fight to Save Ford Motor Company"

Mindset by Carol Dweck. Hugely useful and has changed the way I approach most things.
