Signs of bad and good SAP Projects (23) – Let’s make people love a change, love ERP!... …let’s bring some joy and healthy rivalry into SAP projects by making SAP Activate a great Digital Transformation method! In reality the first and often last cheerful moment on digital transformations is a kick-off. Then begins formal boring work. By preparation of these entries it stroked me that all the methodologies are really boring. How we can maintain a good mood by dozens of check lists and formal rituals only? Again: good project management is also about maintaining positive emotions around a business change! The idea of SAP to bring Scrum to SAP Activate was brilliant as this makes work within teams more cheerful, but still there is a space for improvement at the higher levels. We need definitely to strengthen OCM in SAP Activate - first candidate could be Prosci, but I love and prefer Kotter's as more intuitive - shall we say more emotional and emotions here are very valuable to balance "check-list" material focused approach in SAP Activate.
