The term has been misused to the degree that it can now mean anything. Put simply, if you are focused on a single website or app ... you are not doing UX, strictly speaking. And experiences cannot really be designed. https://bit.ly/2My2Qtu The term "UX" nowadays is often used as a synonym for "Web", "User research" or "Digital". As a professional, though, you should at least know the original meaning of the word in your job title. Donald A. Norman coined the term: "User experience encompasses all aspects of the end-user's interaction with the company, its services, and its products." https://lnkd.in/gAH2Tst There's still plenty of work to be done with individual user interfaces, and your user research https://lnkd.in/een2rd4 can contribute to the improvement of them in valuable ways. If you are ambitious, though, you should slowly broaden your focus from individual user interfaces to the complete user experience which entails all of your company's touch points with users: telephone conversations, brochures, buildings, services, policies ... and, yeah, websites and apps too.
