??#CultivateSustainability #10Tips10Days #1 Broaden your sustainability definition #2 Meditation | Prayer| Introspection | Quiet Time |Physical Activity #3 Calculate your carbon footprint #4 Stop or reduce using plastics #5 Lessen your meat and dairy intake ??I am 100% powered by plants for sustainability reasons and I realize that it is not for everyone. For comparison’s sake, the carbon footprint of a vegetarian is half that of someone who eats meat. The good news is, you don’t have to go vegetarian to make an impact. Reducing the amount can help tremendously.? Here is an idea of how much water it takes to produce 1kg of each: Chocolate 17,000 Liters Beef 15,000 Liters Pork. 6,000 Liters Chicken. 4,300 Liters Potato. 290 Liters Tomato. 215 Liters. Try going one day a week without meat or dairy. I have some kickass plant based recipes if you need them. Check out these documentaries for more insights: ??Earthlings ??Cowspiracy ??Food, Inc. ??Forks Over Knives
I have started with a couple of days eating no meat...and I eat red meat max. once weekly. I don’t miss it but I would have challenges to give up Joghurt and chicken/eggs ??
Based on everything you’ve posted this week I should be in Sustainability Jail.
Love it. 100% plant powered here too ????
Is great ???????
Thanks for sharing this Insightful
This message really resonates. You didn't shove non meat alternatives down our throats or say, "meat eaters are destroying the planet." You simply showed an alternative that promotes #cultivatesustainability. My wife has really been pushing me to non-meat options. I'd appreciate any recipes you'd recommend! Thanks Katie Wallace
So what you’re saying is... a beefcake has less of a carbon imprint than a chocolate cake. Seriously so proud of you Katie Wallace.

6 年What an inspirational push, so proud of you for taking this change in your life for sustainability! I try to avoid all processed foods because of the amount of additives and carbon footprint left behind with the manufacturing of everything. Buying and eating local organic is another step in the right direction! I also adore the idea of Meatless-Mondays!!! Giving that a shot!
