NIGERIA SHOULD BE INFILTRATED WITH SPY INVESTIGATORS! HAHA! This recent video by BBC Pidgin- https://lnkd.in/eyj7tq8 - the revelations should perhaps serve as a pointer to one of the solutions Nigeria can use to fight the persistent problem of corruption. Secret investigators like this should be placed in the places we most suspect corruptions so that they can bring out similar lawlessness Viz, Customs Immigration Offices Ports Airports Corporate Affairs Commission Internal Revenues/FIRS Vehicle Licensing offices All Govt Ministries/Agencies ??Police (corruption 1st - C/o Transparency Int'l & NBS report) Military Universities - See my related posts on university?mgt in Nigeria: https://lnkd.in/ezMPp4q AND? https://lnkd.in/eYxW-BW MY UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCE I lectured for 6 years in a south-east Nigerian university. Lecturer 1 (e.g., an 11-year staff), now earns approx N182K Net. 70% would own 2-3 houses (in a no-mortgage economy), 2-3 cars, etc. Net worth approx 50 million Naira. How did the figures add up? Hahaha! The most reasonable sources: Perhaps are what some call "sorting" from students for marks & all kinds of stuff some people do!?DO YOU AGREE? I knew as an insider! Should these change? I think so! NOW, START INSISTING ON A BETTER PERFORMANCE! DO YOU AGREE?
You need to come back and walk the talk bro. What will be your take on corruption of those overseas?
But the spies would soon become part of the corrupt.
I strongly agreed
It sounds funny obviously that is the truth to some extent. You can never separate our universities from corruption. It all started out from there if you want to look different some may go diabolic against you. The law enforcement agents like police and judiciary make lawlessness a norms. Unless you are well placed in the society or you have influential relatives you can easily get justice . A fellow once told me if you don't have anybody on top you are nobody in Nigeria. That is where the slogan "oga at the top came to being" .
You're right sir.
I agree sir. but, would the "secret investigators" be Nigerians or expatriates? the problem is that the level of corruption which has been enthroned has permeated everybody and every strata of society. A case which itself, I think, arises from the fact that the Nigeria state does not provide or assure any benefit for the people. there is also the zero-sum mindset of the operators of the country arising from the quest for resource control/accumulation. Everyone only seeks how much they can corner to themselves and to their kins and tribesmen.
Ita John, Ph.D. I totally agree. However how do we ensure the safety of these journalists during and post investigation?
i Totally agree....like my former boss would say; how do we ensure the spys are not corrupted is the real question. Great post sir
Perfectly right!

6 年Hmmmm Ita we happily await your return to help set up the spy instrument you know I will be most interested to put it to use. Then we can surely catch the people that beat the system to their advantage.
