6 年Intuitively this proposition ‘feels’ right to people, making it both appealing and believable. However in practice, where reality operates, neither Grit nor IQ, alone or in combination offer a dominant explanation of performance; and their combined influence on performance varies significantly across different job roles. Our work at PerceptionPredict shows that a large number of ‘attributes’ in combination is influencing performance in all roles. And that generalized comparison of one attribute versus another can make interesting reading but without contextual understanding it will not inform us about performance. As the Daniel Kahneman posited, our fast, automated, entirely natural and human System 1 thinking is attracted to intuitive and appealing ideas that are all too often wrong.
