This might not be the most exciting topic, but I am interested in your thoughts.? What does digital transformation mean to you — really? Last week, I wanted to hear your experiences with digital transformation. I was curious how many of you are going through something similar now. Your comments affirmed something for me. You can see them here: https://lnkd.in/eUXmBVc "Digital transformation" covers a lot of things for a lot of people. So tell me — how does your company describe it?
I like think that digital transformation is about empowering talent, and enabling them to work with less limitations---including time and location. Imagine the talent that can be employed if physical proximity is no longer a necessity!
In my humble opinion, digital transformation can be defined as leveraging the digital or technology capabilities to increase the effectiveness and/or the efficiency of the business .. This can be delivering the same products with less cost/effort through automation for example, or delivering a more customised experience to the customers, just to name few. What is not digital transformation for me is migration to cloud or adopting micro services, if this is not driven by business need, then it is more of following the trend than transforming the business.
Using the best tech to automate, speed up or increase the efficiency of processes. Sometimes it's just a good Excel sheet other times it a new database design/software.

Business wise means new innovative resources to exploit with a decent level of knowledge and flexibility
Going from excel to shared folders, using the cloud the make things like.communication more efficiently, it means having access to stats that help your business strategy.. It means less time wasted on lines and more time spent solving problems... Digital transformation is a tool to make things faster, more efficient and hopefully more reliable.
We’re seeing an influx of clients who need help converting a people-driven process - one in which many humans have specific touch points in a system that has been defined and refined over many years - into one that is governed by technology. This proposed system must follow rules, which is a point which each human in the chain will argue adamantly for its own reasons. Digital transformation is not just the code that defines it, but the identification, and organizational acceptance of a technology-driven solution to an organizational problem.
No company will ever NOT be in a state of digital transformation ever again. They will simply just continue to move along the digital transformation spectrum at whatever pace they are capable of as unstoppable innovation continues to grow exponentially. They will need people, partners, and vendors to support their goals, but more importantly, that share in a core #mindset to continue transforming in the right direction.
