#placement #askannie: Where do you see yourself in 5 years? This answer can't be generic. I am trying to provide a framework here. The idea is to have some clarity about which role you want to organically grow into......what would you ideally need to grow into that role? Do you need to explore different roles? Do you need mentoring? Do you need to study more? Can you do all this staying in the job? Thank you Sohini Ghosal for cinematography. #mba #pgdm #pgpm #engg

I don't agree that one has to be specific in what role you want to organically grow. We live in a VUCA world, who knows how certain roles would evolve in next 5 years. And even we as individuals constantly evolve and change. I usually answer such questions as " I am not chasing any title for the next 5 years but all I know that whatever I do I want to make sure I am learning, growing, contributing and having fun. It is very important for me to ensure my role and my job provides me with these elements". I prefer people I interview be authentic and honest. Also today Millenials do not look at companies anymore in terms of 5 and 10 years. So why say things off the template to make your hiring manager feel good. Gone are the days of 5 year panning. One needs to be agile and resilient.

This is funny but just to share ''Nobody wants to hire an applicant who is halfhearted about the job. It’s like dating someone who is using you for free dinners until someone she’s REALLY attracted to comes along''''

I like the positive rhythm, "But now its one the same question which people are't really comfortable to answer, Jobs what people want they hardly get it... ''However, remember that the organization is going to be investing considerable time, energy, and money in hiring and training someone for this job. You must at least show an honest intention to stay long enough to be a good investment'''
