World's longest flight gets wings
A nonstop flight between Sydney and London is getting closer to reality. Representatives from Airbus and Boeing have met with Qantas chief Alan Joyce to convince him they can make the 20-hour flight viable by 2022, with an 18-hour direct flight between New York and Sydney also in contention. Joyce says the planes could have sleeping areas, bars, childcare facilities, and even gyms to help the 300 or so passengers get through the world’s longest flight in comfort. Qantas is mulling between the Airbus A350 and Boeing’s 777X.
