When to leave a job you love for money

Thrilled to be a part of?LinkedIn’s new feature #YouAsked. Love the question I was given by Kelsey Clemens about "leaving where you’re happy." Kelsey wonders if you should consider leaving a job in which you’re happy and comfortable but underpaid for a new company where the pay is better but you’re not sure of the environment... I think the key is doing real due diligence on the new company so you have the most accurate idea possible of what you’d be getting into. Talk to people who work there, find out what their experience is like. If you know what division you’re in, learn as much as you can about your boss from people who report to her. Most of us work for money so the economics of a job matter a lot so you don’t want to be stuck or undervalued. But toxic work environments take a heavy toll on your physical and emotional well-being, which in turns affects your financial health. So do your homework before you leap.
