US to end Iran oil waivers
The U.S. will not renew waivers that allow people to buy Iranian oil in an effort to bring the Middle East country’s exports to zero. The news, which could remove about 1 million barrels per day from the market, sent oil prices to their highest since November on Tuesday. The White House says it will partner with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates — Iran’s rivals — to help offset the reduced supply. The waivers are set to expire on May 2.
