Uber to go 'all-electric' in London
Uber is set to increase fares in a bid to become fully electric in London by 2025. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi says a 15 pence per mile “clean air fee” will be added to each trip from next year to help its drivers transition to electric vehicles. The company currently has 45,000 drivers in the city, and expects 20,000 to switch to electric by 2021. In June, Mayor Sadiq Khan announced drivers of diesel and high-polluting vehicles will face a £12.50 ($16.20) daily charge.
