The world's biggest carbon emitters
Twenty companies, all of them fossil fuel firms, create one-third of the world’s carbon emissions, according to a report from Richard Heede of the Climate Accountability Institute highlighted by the Guardian. Saudi Aramco topped the list, with about 4% of the world’s carbon emissions. The report estimates that these 20 companies have released 480 billion tons of carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere.
