The risks of hiding your feelings
Having a bad day at work, but feel like you should put on a happy face? You might pay for it later, with research showing that employees who force themselves to hide their feelings are heavier drinkers after knock-off time. Penn State and University at Buffalo researchers analysed data from 1,592 U.S. workers and also found that employees who deal with the public drink more after work than those who do not. The study suggests employers could use these insights to create healthier workplace environments.
